Founded in 1589 by William V, Duke of Bavaria, it is one of Munich's oldest breweries. Owned by the Bavarian state, the brand is a global symbol of Bavarian beer culture and hospitality, famous for its historic beer hall, the Hofbräuhaus am Platzl.
